Oppo Brings AR Glasses With 3D Surround Sound; Everything You Should Know
Oppo, with an aim to diversify its product range, has announced a bunch of new gadgets at the ongoing Oppo Inno Day 2019 conference. The Chinese company has just announced its first AR Glasses, a new innovation to offer more than just smartphones. Oppo says that AR and VR have a lot of untapped potentials, which it would explore.
Oppo AR Glasses: Expected Features
According to the company, the Oppo AR Glasses offers a wide range of features. The glasses pack three-dimensional reproduction and is believed to feature 3D surround sound. Plus, Oppo is also using a new technology called diffractive optical waveguide. It helps to achieve a sleek design and high transmittance in the AR Glasses.
Some of the other features include dual fisheye camera placed on the front along with an HD camera. Oppo has placed two buttons in green color on the side of the AR Glasses. In comparison with the Microsoft HoloLens, Oppo claims its AR Glasses are thinner and lighter.
Additionally, the Oppo announced that the AR Glasses come with different modes of interaction like gesture controls and voice recognition. There's not much known about the software aspect of the Oppo AR Glasses, except that it packs various AR content like games and a couple of other services.

Oppo AR Glasses: Launch Details
Oppo had previously announced that it intends to expand its product categories. In this case, the announcement of the AR glasses is not that big a surprise. However, there was some expectation that Oppo would focus on 5G technology. But VR and AR are some of the beneficiaries of the next-gen network standard, the company says
As fast and wide bandwidth rolls out, Oppo believes it would be easier for AR and VR headsets to communicate with connected devices, wirelessly. The company didn't reveal the launch details of the AR Glasses, except that it would roll out in the first quarter of 2020. We still don't know if the Oppo AR Glasses will be available worldwide or if there would be a limited rollout.
