Xiaomi to Celebrate its Fifth Birthday With New Device Launch on March 31
The world's 3rd largest smartphone distributor, Xiaomi is entering its 5th year on March 31st. In regards to this, Xiaomi is planning to celebrate its 5th anniversary by launching a new product in China on that day.
As per the post on the forum, "Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, will be having a conversation with some invited domestic tech media and launching new Mi product(s) on 31 March."
Earlier, the Chinese company has launched Mi TV 2 yesterday with 40-inch full-HD, and Mi Note, Mi Note Pro which is exclusive to the China market. Moreover, it has also launched Redmi 2 and Mi pad, which is now available for sale in the Indian market.
With the line "launching new Mi product(s)", we can expect a circular smartwatch, in competition with Apple Watch. Moreover, the wearable is expected to come with a brushed metal design and also with the ability to monitor blood pressure via pulse wave velocity recognition.
Recently, a smartphone dubbed as Xiaomi Ferrari spotted on the GFX Benchmark with its specifications. It is said to be packed with 4.9-inch display with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, powered by octa core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and Adreno 450 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, 13MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and comes with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

On April 8th last year, Xiaomi China offered a 12-hour flash sale on mi.com with 400,000 units of Mi 3 and Mi 2S , 600,000 units of Redmi phones, along with lots of accessories, and achieved RMB 1.5 Billion in revenues.
Xiaomi HongKong, Xiaomi Taiwan and Xiaomi Singapore attended the Mi Fan Festival last year too. Over 130k phones were sold in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore combined. Xiaomi Singapore offered free mobile clinic service and 13,000 sets of phones in stock for Mi fans, with 20% off a special new accessory.
While there is no indication on what the event has to offer, better wait for the 5th anniversary party, which is less than a week away.
