KRAFTON has opened BGMI LITE pre-registrations in India for Android users, bringing a lighter version of its popular battle royale game to smartphones with limited storage and hardware resources. The game is expected to launch later in 2026 and aims to retain the core Battlegrounds Mobile India experience while significantly reducing its storage requirements.

The BGMI LITE pre-registration listing is now live on the Google Play Store. Players who register early will be eligible for exclusive rewards and will receive notifications when the game officially launches.

KRAFTON is promoting the title with the tagline "Nothing Less, Just Lighter", highlighting its focus on delivering the familiar BGMI gameplay in a more compact package.

BGMI LITE Offers Around 1GB Initial Download

The biggest difference between BGMI and BGMI LITE is the game's size. KRAFTON says the initial BGMI LITE download will be approximately 1GB, making it considerably more accessible for users with limited storage.

Despite the smaller footprint, BGMI LITE is designed to retain the core gameplay experience. Players can expect familiar maps, weapons, gameplay mechanics and the battle royale format that has made BGMI one of India's most popular mobile games.

The reduced size could also benefit users with slower internet connections, as downloading and installing the game should require considerably less data.

BGMI LITE Supports Existing Accounts and Progress

Another major advantage is that existing BGMI players will not have to start from scratch. Users can sign in using their existing BGMI credentials, with their inventory, skins, levels and statistics carrying over to BGMI LITE.
