Crimson Desert System Requirements: PC, Console, Mac, and ROG Ally Specs Revealed
Crimson Desert is the upcoming action-adventure game, which has been generating significant buzz across the gaming community. Developed by Pearl Abyss, the title was initially planned as a prequel to Black Desert Online but later evolved into a standalone open-world adventure.
The game is set to launch on March 19 across Windows, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Ahead of its release, the platform has now revealed detailed system requirements and performance targets for PC, console, and Mac platforms, giving players a clearer idea of the hardware needed to run the visually ambitious title.

PC System Requirements for Crimson Desert
For PC players, Crimson Desert will support multiple graphics presets ranging from Minimum to Ultra. The game can run at upscaled 1080p at the lowest settings and scales all the way up to native 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra settings, depending on the hardware. Notably, every configuration requires 16GB RAM and a 150GB SSD, indicating that the game will be quite demanding in terms of storage and system performance.
| Graphics Preset | Performance Target | GPU | CPU | RAM | OS | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Upscaled 1080p (from 900p) at 30 FPS | AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8500 | 16GB | Windows 10 64-bit (22H2+) | 150GB SSD |
| Low | 1080p at 30 FPS | AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8500 | 16GB | Windows 10 64-bit | 150GB SSD |
| Recommended | 1080p 60 FPS / 4K 30 FPS | AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 / Intel Core i5-11600K | 16GB | Windows 10 64-bit | 150GB SSD |
| High | 1440p at 60 FPS | AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 | AMD Ryzen 5 7600X / Intel Core i5-12600K | 16GB | Windows 10 64-bit | 150GB SSD |
| Ultra | 4K at 60 FPS | AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti | AMD Ryzen 7 7700X / Intel Core i5-13600K | 16GB | Windows 10 64-bit | 150GB SSD |
Console Performance Targets
Developer Pearl Abyss has also revealed performance modes for consoles including the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Each platform offers different performance modes that balance frame rate, resolution, and ray tracing quality.
PlayStation 5
Players on PlayStation 5 will get three graphics modes: Performance, Balanced, and Quality.
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Ray Tracing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | 1080p | 60 FPS (VRR supported) | Low |
| Balanced | Upscaled 4K (from 1280p, FSR 3) | 40 FPS | Low |
| Quality | Upscaled 4K (from 1440p) | 30 FPS | High |
PlayStation 5 Pro
The upgraded PS5 Pro offers better ray tracing and improved upscaling through Sony's PSSR technology.
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Ray Tracing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | Upscaled 4K (from 1080p, PSSR) | 60 FPS | High |
| Balanced | Upscaled 4K (from 1440p) | 40 FPS | High |
| Quality | Native 4K | 30 FPS | Ultra |
Xbox Series S
The more affordable Xbox Series S offers lower resolution targets and does not support ray tracing.
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Ray Tracing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | 720p | 40 FPS | Off |
| Quality | 1080p | 30 FPS | Off |
Xbox Series X
The Xbox Series X provides three different performance options similar to the PlayStation 5.
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Ray Tracing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | 1080p | 60 FPS | Low |
| Balanced | Upscaled 4K (from 1280p) | 40 FPS | Low |
| Quality | Upscaled 4K (from 1440p) | 30 FPS | High |
Both PlayStation and Xbox consoles will require VRR-compatible displays and HDMI 2.1 cables to unlock higher frame rate options.
Mac Requirements for Crimson Desert
Interestingly, Pearl Abyss has also confirmed support for macOS, making Crimson Desert one of the few major AAA games arriving on Apple devices. The game will run on macOS 15 or later and will use MetalFX upscaling technology to improve performance.
| Preset | Apple Chip | Performance Target | Ray Tracing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | M2 Pro | 720p-900p at 30 FPS | Off |
| Recommended | M3 Pro / M4 Pro / M5 | 1080p at 60 FPS | On |
| High | M2 Max / M3 Max | 1440p at 60 FPS | On |
| Ultra | M3 Ultra / M4 Max | 4K up to 60 FPS | On |
All Mac configurations also require 16GB RAM and 150GB storage.
ROG Handheld System Requirements
For handheld gaming, Crimson Desert will also support the ROG Xbox Ally handheld lineup. These handheld devices rely heavily on AMD FSR 3 upscaling and frame generation to balance performance and visual quality at lower resolutions.
ROG Xbox Ally
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Upscaling | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Performance Mode | Native 720p | 40 FPS | FSR 3 Frame Generation | 150GB |
| Performance Upscaled Mode | Upscaled 1080p (from 720p) | 60 FPS | FSR 3 Super Resolution + Frame Generation | 150GB |
ROG Xbox Ally X
| Mode | Resolution | Target Performance | Upscaling | Storage |
