NVIDIA Gamescom 2026 Highlights: DLSS 4.5, RTX Spark, AI Teammates and GeForce NOW Expansion Announced

NVIDIA has announced a range of gaming and AI updates at Gamescom 2026, expanding its RTX ecosystem across PC gaming, game development, cloud gaming and AI-powered experiences.

The highlights include DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, new RTX Remix capabilities, AI characters powered by NVIDIA ACE, the upcoming RTX Spark, and major updates to GeForce NOW.

DLSS 4.5 Improves Ray Tracing

One of the biggest announcements is the availability of DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction through the NVIDIA app.

The technology uses a second-generation Transformer model designed to improve ray-traced image quality. NVIDIA says it features a larger denoiser for faster reconstruction, deeper spatial awareness for improved lighting accuracy and finer control over temporal accumulation.

These improvements are designed to deliver sharper ray-traced images, more accurate lighting and better ray-traced shadows.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Path Tracing will arrive in First Light on September 15, followed by Control Resonant on September 24. The Streamline SDK and Unreal Engine plugin are already available for developers.

RTX Remix Revives Classic Games

NVIDIA is continuing to expand RTX Remix, its platform for upgrading classic PC games with modern graphics technologies.

The company says compatible titles have grown from around 150 at launch in January 2025 to approximately 250 at Gamescom 2026. RTX Remix is also gaining new tools, including Blender integration for managing Remix assets, PCSX2 Remix for adding path tracing to PS2 games, and InstaMAT2Remix for procedural asset generation.

Painkiller and Morrowind Get RTX Upgrades

Painkiller RTX remasters 15 levels with full path tracing accelerated by DLSS 4.5. It also includes advanced particle effects, RTX Volumetrics, RTX Neural Radiance Cache, Remix Logic and RTX IO. NVIDIA says the project is available as a free mod on GOG for the original Painkiller, with a demo available from August 25.

Meanwhile, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind RTX remasters three locations - Seyda Neen, the Mages Guild and Balmora. The project uses full path tracing with DLSS 4.5, alongside RTX Volumetrics, Neural Radiance Cache and RTX IO.

RTX Spark Targets Gaming and AI

NVIDIA is preparing to launch RTX Spark this fall as a compact system for gaming, content creation and AI workloads.

The company says it can deliver 100fps gaming at 1440p with ray tracing and DLSS, edit 8K video with 4:2:2 colour and render 90GB 3D scenes using OptiX and ray tracing.

RTX Spark is also designed for AI agents, supporting NVIDIA's full AI stack, agents with up to 120 billion parameters and a 1-million-token context window. NVIDIA says the systems can be as thin as 14mm and offer all-day battery life.

EA is bringing its Javelin anti-cheat technology to RTX Spark, while Ubisoft is joining the platform. ARC Raiders and THE FINALS are also confirmed.

NVIDIA ACE Brings AI Teammates

AI is another major focus at Gamescom 2026. NVIDIA highlighted how Krafton is using NVIDIA ACE to create AI teammates capable of responding to players through voice interactions.

The system combines automatic speech recognition, a small language model and text-to-speech with game-state information. This allows AI teammates to respond to player input with both dialogue and in-game actions.

ACE Is Coming to Aniimo

NVIDIA ACE will also come to Aniimo in early 2027. Players will be able to speak naturally with their Aniimo characters, teach them new skills and coordinate in-game actions.

NVIDIA says players will also be able to discover different personalities through conversations. The feature will be powered by NVIDIA ACE and RTX GPUs.

GeForce NOW Gets DLSS 4.5

GeForce NOW is also receiving DLSS 4.5, which is now available in hundreds of games. New controls let users adjust DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.

NVIDIA is adding major AAA games including Resident Evil Requiem, Gears of War: E-Day, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Control Resonant, Onimusha: Way of the Sword and Metro 2039. GOG account linking and single sign-on are also coming to the service.

More Ways to Use GeForce NOW

NVIDIA is expanding GeForce NOW to Steam Machines with support for the new Steam Controller. Firefox is now officially supported, while direct membership purchases are planned for fall 2026.

The company is also adding support for new 4K Fire TV Sticks through expanded Amazon integration.

NVIDIA's Gamescom 2026 Strategy

NVIDIA's Gamescom announcements extend well beyond traditional GPU upgrades. DLSS 4.5 aims to improve ray-traced graphics, RTX Remix is modernising classic games, and NVIDIA ACE is bringing more interactive AI characters to games.

At the same time, RTX Spark combines gaming, creation and AI, while GeForce NOW continues to expand its games library and supported platforms. Together, these announcements highlight NVIDIA's broader push to make RTX technology a central part of gaming, AI and interactive experiences.
