This year, two highly anticipated sequels, Alan Wake 2 by Remedy Entertainment and Baldur's Gate 3 by Larian Studios, have taken center stage with an impressive eight nominations each, including the coveted Game of the Year title.

Best Adaptation Category

A notable addition to this year's awards is the Best Adaptation category, recognizing outstanding adaptations of games into films and series. Nominees include "Castlevania: Nocturne" (Netflix), "Gran Turismo" (Sony Pictures), "The Last of Us" (HBO), "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" (Illumination/Universal Pictures), and "Twisted Metal" (Peacock).

Nintendo Leads in Nominations

Nintendo emerged as the most nominated publisher in 2023, boasting a total of 15 nominations across its diverse portfolio. Following closely are Sony Interactive Entertainment/PlayStation with 13 nominations, Xbox (including Bethesda and Blizzard) with 10, and Epic Games with nine.

Global Recognition and Participation

The 2023 Game Awards have a global reach, with nominees spanning 112 different games, individuals, teams, and events across various genres and platforms. The selection process involves a global jury comprising individuals from over 100 media publications and influencer outlets.

The Grand Event

Mark your calendars for Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, when the 10th annual Game Awards show will stream live from the Peacock Theater in L.A. The event will be broadcast on over 30 platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, TikTok Live, and Twitter.
