CS:GO 2 Beta May Release by March End: Report

|

Details about a new refresh of the Counter Strike franchise have leaked out, and this is the strongest indicator we've had so far about Valve's plans with the competitive first-person shooter.

Unbelievably, it has been a decade since Counter Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO was launched, which straightaway became one of the hottest games for esports and has topped charts ever since.

CS:GO 2 Beta May Release by March End: Report

Now, according to a tweet by a tipster, Valve is almost ready with the successor, reportedly called CS:GO2, with updated gameplay mechanics, which could pose a threat to the likes of Riot Games' Valorant.

CS:GO2 Demo Could Be Out By March End

According to a tweet by esports journalist Richard Lewis, Valve is working on a new Counter Strike title. He reported that the studio recently hosted a secret playtest for the upcoming game, for which a select few players were taken to Seattle in the US.

Lewis added that the game's beta version is expected to hit the stores as early as March end. A broader beta rollout with the larger community could happen by April 1. Valve, however, is yet to confirm the existence of the sequel.

Considering the number of leaks over the years, the latest report sounds quite believable. Several users also reported that the latest Nvidia GPU drivers contained instances called 'csgo2.exe' and 'cs2.exe', indicating that the game is almost ready to launch.

Will Counter Strike once again claim the title of being the default esports ruler with the new release? We will find out soon.
