GTA 6 Is Still Set for November 19, 2026, Take-Two Confirms; More Updates Coming This Summer
After weeks of renewed speculation around delays, Take-Two Interactive has again said that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track to launch on November 19, 2026.

The confirmation came during the company’s latest earnings call, where Take-Two expressed confidence in the timeline and said Rockstar Games will begin the game’s launch marketing campaign this summer.
Why the Delay Talk Picked Up Again
Concerns around another delay resurfaced last month after Jason Schreier reported that GTA 6 was not yet “content complete,” citing sources familiar with development. While that raised eyebrows, Schreier also noted that the November 19, 2026 date felt more solid than earlier targets.
That context matters. GTA 6 has already been delayed twice, first from a 2025 window to May 2026, and then again in November 2025 to its current November 2026 date. Understandably, fans are wary.
Take-Two Sounds Confident This Time
At its third-quarter FY 2026 earnings call, Take-Two Interactive didn’t hedge. The company reaffirmed the November launch and said it expects GTA 6 to drive record net bookings in fiscal 2027.

CEO Strauss Zelnick went a step further, saying the release is expected to establish a “new financial baseline” for the company. In other words, Take-Two is planning its next financial year around GTA 6 actually shipping.
GTA 6 Marketing Starts This Summer
One of the more concrete updates from the call was around marketing. Take-Two confirmed that Rockstar will begin its GTA 6 marketing push this summer.

That’s notable because Rockstar has been largely silent since releasing the game’s second trailer in May last year. A summer marketing window suggests that new trailers, gameplay footage, or deeper reveals could arrive as early as June.
Historically, Rockstar tends to share more detailed looks at its games closer to launch, rather than spacing out updates over long periods.
Strong Results Elsewhere Buy Time for GTA 6
Take-Two’s confidence is also backed by strong performance across the rest of its portfolio. The company reported $1.76 billion in net bookings for Q3 FY 2026, beating its own guidance.
A big contributor was NBA 2K26, which has now sold over 8 million copies. Take-Two also said NBA 2K26 is on track to deliver record net bookings and recurrent spending for the franchise.
Meanwhile, GTA Online continues to generate steady revenue, and Grand Theft Auto V has now sold 225 million units since launching in 2013. That ongoing success gives Rockstar more breathing room as it finishes GTA 6.
Still One Big Caveat
Even with Take-Two’s confidence, it’s worth taking everything with a grain of salt. Game development timelines can shift quickly, especially on projects as large as GTA 6. For now, though, Take-Two is publicly standing by November 19, 2026, and backing that date with a clear marketing plan.
GTA 6 is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
