Set in the year 2035, Black Ops 7 picks up the story decades after the events of Black Ops 6. David Mason, the protagonist of Black Ops 2, returns as the lead character, now operating in a world destabilized by technological warfare and psychological manipulation.

According to Activision, players will step into a global crisis where fear is weaponized and reality itself becomes a battleground. While detailed gameplay footage wasn’t shown, the teaser at the Xbox Showcase hinted at a more cerebral, slow-burn approach to combat — something that may differentiate this entry from previous COD campaigns.

Activision has confirmed that more details will be revealed later this summer. That will likely include campaign walkthroughs, multiplayer mechanics, and a clearer picture of how the narrative builds on previous entries.
