Lenovo Legion Go 2 Leaked in Full: AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, 8.8-Inch OLED, and 74Whr Battery Confirmed

Lenovo’s next gaming handheld, the Legion Go 2, has leaked in full just days before its expected reveal at IFA Berlin. The device first appeared in prototype form at CES earlier this year, but now we have a much clearer picture thanks to tipster Evan Blass, who shared detailed marketing materials showcasing its design and specs.

A Refined Design

The Legion Go 2 sticks close to Lenovo’s earlier handhelds but takes a few design cues from the slimmer Legion Go S. Instead of the boxier frame of the original Legion Go, this model goes for curved sides and a more ergonomic grip. The detachable controllers return, as does “console mode,” where both sides attach together to form a single gamepad—similar to the Nintendo Switch.

Lenovo’s unique FPS mode also makes a comeback, allowing one controller to be used as a joystick for shooting games. Other tweaks include reworked back buttons, an excimer coating for better controller grip, and a sturdier kickstand at the back.

Display and Hardware

The leak suggests the Legion Go 2 will use an 8.8-inch OLED touchscreen with a 1200p resolution, HDR support, and a 144Hz variable refresh rate. Brightness is said to peak at 500 nits, which should make it more usable in different lighting conditions.

Inside, the device will run on AMD’s new Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip, though a lower-end Ryzen Z2 version will also be available. Memory and storage options look generous: up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 1TB PCIe SSD storage, and support for microSD expansion up to 2TB.

Connectivity and Cooling

Port selection covers most bases: two USB-C ports with USB 4.0 and power delivery support (one each at the top and bottom), a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot. The top also houses the speakers, volume controls, cooling vents, and a fingerprint-enabled power button.

Cooling seems to have been upgraded too, with Lenovo reportedly fitting a larger fan to manage the Ryzen Z2’s heat output.

Battery and Power

According to the leak, the Legion Go 2 will ship with a 74Whr battery and a 65W charger. While official endurance figures aren’t out yet, the larger battery suggests Lenovo is trying to balance performance with usable on-the-go playtime.

What’s Next

Lenovo is expected to announce the Legion Go 2 officially at IFA Berlin on September 5. Pricing and availability details remain under wraps for now, but with the leak showing nearly everything else, that’s the last major piece of the puzzle left for Lenovo to confirm.
