You Can Get a Free Copy of GTA 6, All You Have to Do Is Have a Baby on Launch Day

GTA 6 pre-orders go live tomorrow, June 25. The game is expected to cost somewhere between $70 and $80. That's a fair chunk of money, and if you're looking to save it, a Norwegian electronics retailer has a way out. The catch is something you needed to have started working on about four months ago.

No, seriously.

The Offer

Komplett, one of Norway's biggest electronics chains, is giving away a free copy of GTA 6 to any customer whose baby is born on November 19, 2026, the game's current launch date. They ran a poster at a railway station showing rose petals on a ruffled bed with the caption: "GTA 6 dropping in 9 months." An Instagram post followed: "this is actually not a joke, GTA 6 will be released in 9 months and if you have a baby on the release date, you'll get the game for free from us."

The timing is genuinely uncanny. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026. A standard pregnancy is nine months. Nine months before November 19 is almost exactly Valentine's Day 2026. Komplett spotted this, blinked once, and apparently decided to build an entire marketing campaign around it.

Should Have Thought About This Earlier

The promotion went live in February. Rose petals. A ruffled bed. The hint could not have been more obvious. A little more productivity on Valentine's Day and GTA 6 takes care of itself by November.

What's truly unfortunate is that Komplett is Norwegian, the offer is for Norwegian customers, and none of this was ever on the table for us in India. We're just here writing about it and feeling the loss deeply.

The One Thing That Could Ruin All of This

GTA 6 has already been delayed twice. Late 2025 became May 26, 2026, which then became November 19, 2026. Take-Two says this date is final. Komplett hasn't said what happens to the offer if Rockstar quietly disagrees. So there's a version of this where someone times everything perfectly, the baby arrives right on November 19, and the game moves by six weeks. That would be a very specific kind of cruel.

Though I think Komplett would fulfill the promise. They should honestly for the sheer commitment.

Reddit got hold of this fast. "You're not getting time to play GTA 6 if you have a screaming baby at home," wrote one user. Another chimed in: "That baby is gonna cost alooooot more than 70 dollars." Both true. Both completely beside the point. The point is you got GTA 6 for free, and that's a story for the ages.

Pre-Orders Open Tomorrow

For everyone who didn't think this far ahead on Valentine's Day, pre-orders open June 25 on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, and select retailers for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar is also widely expected to drop Trailer 3 around the same time, making tomorrow a big day for the franchise regardless of how you're planning to pay for your copy.
