Chinese tech giant Xiaomi don't want to miss out on any opportunities when it comes to consumer's products. The company is already popular among the smartphone enthusiast for its affordable feature loaded handsets, and is also tapping on other markets including power banks, headphones, wearables, air-purifiers, etc.

Talking about the air-purifiers, the company has launched its third-generation air purifier- the Mi Air Purifier Pro that comes with increased capacity and offers a better coverage. Xiaomi has launched the purifier in China at an approximate price of Rs. 14,770 and it will go on sale by November 11.

Considering the fact that India is surpassing the pollution levels of China, it will not come as a surprise if Xiaomi launches the new purifier in India by 2016 end and manages to make a good profit out of it. After all air pollution is accounted as the major environmental risk to health in India.

Displays Real-Time Air Quality with OLED Screen
Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro is the first to sport an OLED display that shows the air quality of your surroundings in real-time. The purifier uses the in-built PM2.5 concentration scale for particulate matter and also displays temperature and humidity.
Besides, an LED ring around the display also serves as an indicator and changes colour from green to red based on the air quality.

Bigger and Covers larger area
Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier Pro has a dimension of 735x200x260mm. As per Xiaomi, the air purifier can be used to purify air up to 60 square meters indoor area, compared to 37 square meters in the previous generation. The overall weight of air purifier is 9.7kg.

What lies beneath?
The air purifier has a triple layer 360-degree filter on board, with a PET pre-filter, an EPA filter, and an activated carbon filter.
Talking about the sensors, the air purifier has standard temperature, humidity and air quality sensor. Besides, Xiaomi has also added a new laser particle sensor for detecting the air quality more accurately. It can detect up to 0.3μm diameter particles.
As per Xiaomi, the new Mi Air Purifier Pro claims a clean air delivery (CAD) rate of 500 cubic metres per hour.

Mi App to control the Wi-Fi enabled Purifier
The air purifier has WiFi 802.11n and can be controlled via Mi Home app for Android and iOS. The app allows you to schedule it to power on, power off, switch to Night mode, display air quality and more.
