Apple Announces Subscription Price Increases for Apple TV+, News+, and Arcade
Apple has once again adjusted the pricing for its subscription services, including Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, and Apple News+. This price hike, currently implemented in the United States and select international regions, is aimed at bolstering the company's revenue. Although Apple has not provided a specific reason for the increase, it coincides with the upcoming release of its fourth-quarter earnings.
Apple TV+ Takes a Leap
In the U.S. and other affected countries, Apple TV+ has seen a price increase from $6.99 to $9.99 per month. This streaming service offers a range of exclusive content, including hits like "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show." New subscribers continue to enjoy a week-long free trial. Notably, Indian customers remain unaffected, with the subscription cost in India holding steady at Rs. 99 monthly.

This price adjustment adds Apple TV+ to the list of streaming platforms that have raised their prices this year, joining the likes of Netflix, Max, and Disney+.
Apple Arcade and Apple News+ Follow Suit
Apple Arcade, the gaming subscription service, now costs $6.99 per month, up from $4.99. Subscribers can access a library of video games that sync progress across multiple Apple devices.
Similarly, Apple News+ has witnessed a price increase from $9.99 to $12.99 per month. This service offers users a curated feed of news articles and exclusive magazine content from top publications. It also allows sharing with family members and offers a unique feature that enables users to listen to stories in an audiobook-like format. However, Apple News+ remains unavailable in India.
Changes in Apple One Bundles
In addition to the individual premium services, Apple has also modified the pricing for its Apple One bundles. The Individual plan now costs $19.95 per month, up from $16.95, and includes Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, and 50GB of iCloud+ storage. In India, this plan is available for Rs. 195 per month.
The Family plan, which can be shared among five members, comes with the same benefits but offers an upgraded 200GB of iCloud+ storage. Its price has risen to $25.95 in the U.S., while it remains at Rs. 365 per month in India.
The Premier plan, the most comprehensive of the Apple One bundles, encompasses Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+ and includes 2TB of iCloud+ storage. Its new cost is $37.95, up from $32.95. It's important to note that any service not currently subscribed to will be free for the first month. Existing members in eligible regions will experience the price increase 30 days after their next renewal date.
