Apple Rumored to Be Building a 360-Degree Rotating Tabletop Robot
According to a report from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a tabletop robot with an iPad-style display attached to a robotic arm capable of 360-degree rotation.
This device, which could hit the market as early as 2026, might represent Apple's next big push into the smart home ecosystem.

A Multifunctional Smart Home Hub
The rumored tabletop device is expected to serve multiple purposes, making it a versatile addition to any smart home. It will reportedly allow users to control various smart home devices, attend video conferences, and monitor home security.
With integration into Apple's ecosystem, the device would feature Siri and Apple Intelligence, enabling it to respond to voice commands and other interactive features like "look at me," which could automatically adjust the screen to face the user during a call.
Leadership and Development
Leading this ambitious project is Kevin Lynch, Apple's Vice President of Technology, who previously oversaw the now-discontinued Apple car project, codenamed Project Titan.
The device is still in its development phase, with a team of several hundred people reportedly working on it. The expected launch window is between 2026 and 2027, although, as with any rumor, these details should be taken cautiously.
Potential Price and Market Positioning
The tabletop robot is rumored to come with a starting price of around $1,000. This pricing would place it in the premium segment of the smart home market, targeting consumers who are already invested in Apple's ecosystem and are looking for high-end, integrated solutions for their smart homes.
Apple's Broader Strategy
This potential launch would follow Apple's cancellation of its rumored car project and the introduction of the Vision Pro earlier in 2024. If the tabletop robot comes to fruition, it could mark Apple's entry into the home robotics space, a market that has seen increasing interest from other tech giants.
For instance, Samsung introduced its Ballie robot, and Amazon has been exploring generative AI for its Astro bot, though the latter's business version was recently discontinued.
