Here’s How &flix Is Disrupting Hollywood Movies Genre
Earlier this year, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) came up with a new framework for the TV industry. The new pricing framework mandates viewers subscribe to various channels that they want to access after subscribing to curated packs as per their choice.
Due to this new pricing framework from TRAI, several English movie channels were hit among other genres. And, the reach of these channels declined due to the move taken by TRAI. As a result, a bid to give what subscribers lost previously, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) came up with an English movie channel &flix.
Well, &flix has joined hands with Sony Pictures Television for the world television premiere of popular Hollywood cinema within months of release. This move is sure to disrupt the English movie genre to a great extent.
&flix Shortens Hollywood Movie TV Premiere!
When it comes to telecasting Hollywood movies to Indian TV screens, the time frame for the same was nine to 12 months previously. As a result of the deal between Sony Pictures and &flix, this time period has bee shortened now. Audience with an affinity to watch Hollywood movies on TV can do so in just a few months of their release.
This started with Sony Pictures Television's MIB: International on October 20, 2019. And, it will also continue with the other titles from Sony Picture Television's library including Angry Birds 2, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Zombieland 2, Brightburn, Charlie's Angels (2019), and Jumanji: The Next Level.
Basically, fans of Hollywood movies will be able to watch their favorite flicks right on their TV screen within four to five months of their theatrical release. Well, these movies mentioned above will be aired in two prime time slots meant for English movies.
