Nokia Smart TV With 55-Inch 4K Display India Launch Imminent

Recently, Nokia announced a partnership with the e-commerce portal Flipkart to launch its TVs. It has been revealed that Nokia TVs will be built in India and is likely to be available only in the country. We are yet to know if these TVs will be launched in the global markets later. Also, it has been confirmed to feature JBL Audio.

Nokia Smart TV India Launch Nearing

While it is yet to be confirmed when the company will launch the Nokia smart TV in India, it has been certified by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards), hinting that its launch in the country is nearing. The certification listing reveals that there will be a 55-inch display with 4K UHD resolution.

As per a report by Times of India, the Nokia Smart TV, which is in the making is likely to run Android Pie out-of-the-box. Like the other smart TVs in the market, this one is also said to be preinstalled with Google Play Store and arrive with features such as Intelligent Dimming providing better contrast ratio.

What We Think About Nokia TV

Going by the existing reports, the Nokia TV is believed to go official sometime in early December. Given that this smart TV will compete against the likes of OnePlus TV, Motorola TV, and Mi TV, we can expect the Nokia TV to be priced competitively to beat the competition.

Moreover, all these above-mentioned smart TVs are available via Flipkart, which has an understanding of the needs of consumers in India who want a smart TV. The e-commerce portal reveals that poor sound quality is a major pain point for consumers. And, this is what Nokia TV aims to resolve with JBL Sound.

We are yet to see how Nokia smart TV will be perceived by consumers who are looking forward to buying a smart TV. As of now, the TV market is dominated by smartphone brands such as Xiaomi. We are yet to see if Nokia will able to bank on the same strategy.
