Nvidia Shield TV Pro Powered By Tegra X1+ Processor Launched With Smart 4K Upscaling
After a plethora of leaks and speculations, the latest streaming devices from Nvidia are here. The Nvidia Shield TV Pro and the Nvidia Shield TV are already available via various resellers for $199.99 and $149.99 in the US.
Nvidia Shield TV Pro, Nvidia Shield TV Features And Specifications
The latest Shield TV devices from Nvidia are based on the Tegra X1+ processor which claims to be up to 25 percent faster than the Tegra X1 that powered by the original Shield TV. Both models now support Dolby Vision HDR and the company is using custom processing to upscale 720p and 1080p footages to 4K resolution to improve the clarity on high-resolution televisions.
There is also Nvidia Games for those who like to stream games from their PC to their TV. With Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, the new Shield TV will offer some of the best possible multi-media experience on OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Videos.
Though the Shield TV Pro looks a lot like its predecessor it now packs 16GB of internal storage and 3GB RAM. The package does not include a controller, instead, it comes with a new remote that accepts AAA batteries with a dedicated Netflix button. Besides, the device now has dual USB 3.0 ports for connecting external storage devices and peripherals.
The base model or the new Sheild TV comes in a circular form factor with a microSD card slot and a mini HDMI port. Unlike the Pro model, this does not have a USB port and it looks compact.
Both devices run on Android TV OS based on Android 9 Pie and there is no word on Android 10 update. It also comes with Google Play Store, where users can install new apps and games. There is also support for Google Home and smart gadgets can be controlled using the Shield TV and the Shield TV Pro.

As of now, there is no information on the pricing or the availability of the Nvidia Shield Pro or the Nvidia Shield.
