eSIM to Physical SIM Card: Can the Switch Be Done and How?
As mobile technology continues to evolve, eSIMs are becoming a popular alternative to traditional SIM cards. Unlike a physical SIM card that you insert into your phone, an eSIM is built right into your device. It can be activated digitally, usually by scanning a QR code or through your mobile carrier's app.
While eSIM is convenient in many ways, they do have some downsides. One common challenge is transferring from the eSIM to a physical SIM. This process can be more complicated than simply popping out a physical SIM and inserting it into a new device. If you're currently using an eSIM and are thinking about switching back to a physical SIM card, you're at the right place. Here's the step-by-step guide on how to switch to a physical SIM from eSIM.

How to Convert eSIM to Physical SIM: Step-by-Step Guide
If you're looking to switch from an eSIM back to a physical SIM card, the process is straightforward, but it does require a visit to your mobile network provider's store. Since users can't complete the process online or by themselves. Here's how to do it:
Step 1: First, users have to visit the nearest store of your network provider.
Step 2: Request a Physical SIM card, and they might ask for your phone number, ID, or other details for verification.
Step 3: The store representative will permanently deactivate the eSIM linked to your phone. Once that's done, they'll issue you a new physical SIM card.
Step 4: The physical SIM will be activated with the same mobile number you were using on your eSIM. Just insert it into your phone, and you're almost ready to go.
Step 5: Your new physical SIM should be up and running within two hours. There may be a small fee for the SIM card, usually around ₹50.
Unlike switching from eSIM to physical SIM (which requires visiting a store), converting a physical SIM to an eSIM can be done online from the comfort of your home. The process is slightly different for each service provider, so here's a quick step-by-step guide for Airtel and Jio users:
How to convert Airtel physical SIM to eSIM

Step 2: You'll get an SMS reply from 121. Reply to that message with '1' within 60 seconds to confirm the eSIM request.
Step 3: After replying, you'll get another SMS, followed by a call from Airtel. On this call, confirm that you want to switch to eSIM.
Step 4: Airtel will send a QR code to your registered email. Scan the QR Code to Activate eSIM.
Step 5: Open the Settings app on your phone and then tap Mobile Data > Add Data Plan. Select Scan QR Code and follow the prompts to activate. Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi during the setup. The whole process usually takes about 2 hours.
