How to increase data transfer speed of your pendrive?
You might think that all the USB devices are same, but that is not the case. USB devices come in two variants. One is the USB 2.0 that has a transferring speed of 35 Mbps. The other one is the USB 3.0 that has a transferring rate of 625 Mbps.

If you own the USB device that you purchased around three years ago, the chances are high that you are using USB 2.0. Are you frustrated by the slow transfer rate of your device when it comes to transferring large data? You can’t increase the transfer speed drastically, but you can doubt it by following few easy tips.
Methods to increase data transfer speed of your pen drive
Few factors which affect the data transferring speed of your pen drive are file allocation table of your pen drive, device policy, file types, and OS and hardware performance. With few changes, we can optimize these factors for the highest data transfer speed of your pen drive.
Method 1: Format Your File Allocation Table
File allocation table is responsible for memory allocations of the data stored in pen drive. Deleting these tables can increase the transfer rate. Follow the steps given below to format the file allocation table of your pen drive.
Step 1: Connect your pen drive to the computer.
Step 2: Open "My Computer" and right click on the drive.
Step 3: Click on "Properties" and select "Format."
Step 4: Open the drop-down menu of the "File System" and select "NTFS."
Step 5: Click on "Format."
Your pen drive should work fast now. But make sure that you take a proper backup before formatting the data allocation table of the pen drive.
Method 2: Make Changes In Device Policies
Just a single change in device policies of your pen drive can boost its performance. Follow the steps given below to make sure that your pen drive is working at a reasonable speed. The first two steps can be borrowed from the above method. We will proceed to the third step in this section.
Step 1: Select "Properties" and click on "Hardware" tab.
Step 2: A list of drivers will now appear on your screen. Select your drive and then again click on "Properties."
Step 3: Click on "Change Settings" tab and then click on "Policy Tab" that appears on next wizard.
Step 4: Tick the box that says "Better Performance Option."
This method will boost the overall performance of your pen drive.
