How to Search WhatsApp Messages by Date

WhatsApp, the instant messaging app is constantly bringing features to enhance users' experience. The messaging app has now introduced a new feature named 'Search by Date', allowing users to search for specific messages in their WhatsApp chats.

Earlier, we used to search for a specific message using text. Now, the 'Search by Date' feature will allow you to search specific messages using date. The new feature is available for Android, iOS, and Web users. Here's how to use WhatsApp's 'Search by Date' feature on your Android or iOS device.

How to Use 'Search by Date' Feature on WhatsApp

Step 1: First, you need to update your WhatsApp app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Step 2: Now, open any individual or group chat to search for specific messages.

Step 3: Android users need to click on the three dots icon located in the top right corner of the screen, while iPhone users have to tap on the contact or group name.

Step 4: Click on the 'Search' option. Now, you can see a small calendar icon with a search symbol.

Step 5: Once you tap on the 'Search' option, a pop-up calendar will appear on your screen. You can select the desired date, month and year.

Step 6: Now, it will allow you access to the messages from that specific day. You can scroll up or down within the chat to get the information.

Last month, WhatsApp introduced text formatting options including Bulleted Lists, Numbered Lists, Block Quote, and Inline Code. The feature is also available for iOS, Android, Web, and Mac desktop users.
