How to translate text in any app with Google Translate
Google has created a feature called Tap to translate text from any app in a single tap.
Google Translate is one of the very useful apps to help you when you are in a new country where they speak a different language that you do not know. It will help you when you are communicating with someone with the language that you are not familiar with.
Google has thought of such a scenario and created a feature called Tap to translate that allows you translate text from any app in a single tap. This feature is seen in the Google Translate app. So, you need not download any other app or an add-on to use it. You can translate offline by downloading the app on your phone’s language pack and keep translating with just a tap.
As there are many more situations for you to need translation, let’s see how you can enable the feature and how it will work.
- Download the Google Translate app or update it to the latest version.
- Open the Google Translate app and go to Settings > Tap to translate > Enable.
- Open the app that has the text that you want to translate and choose the text.
- Once you copy the text, you can see the Google Translate balloon on the screen.
- Once you tap this balloon, it will show a small pop up window with the translation of the copied text.
You can use the window to translate your reply to the text when you are chatting with someone.
To open the Google Translate floating window on any app on your phone, you should enable the notifications from the settings of Tap to translate.
Do note that the Google Translate’s Tap to translate feature will work perfectly even if you are not connected to the internet. Remember that you should have already downloaded the language translation pack so that the app can translate the text on any app without internet.
