Airtel's new Rs. 9 plan offers unlimited calls, 100 SMS and 100MB data

Airtel has launched a new entry-level plan of Rs. 9 for its prepaid subscribers. As part of the telco's Prepaid Promise scheme, the plan offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS and 100MB data with 1 day validity. This plan is similar to Reliance Jio's Rs. 19 plan, which provides unlimited calls, 20 SMS and 150MB of data. While Jio's plan gives an additional 50MB of data, the Airtel's Rs. 9 plan is offering 80 SMSes more than Jio.

The new tariff plan from Airtel seems to be an open market one. According to Airtel's website, the Rs. 9 plan is available in all the circles under Combo Offer section. This means customers can avail the plan in all the circles where the telecom operator has its operations. If you are living in Mumbai, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka and other circles, this plan should work for you.

If you are looking for a one-day pack with limited, this plan is perfect for you. If you want some more data you can also try Airtel's Rs. 19 tariff plan, which offers unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 100 SMS and 200MB 3G/4G data for all smartphones with one-day validity. And guess what, this is an open market plan as well.

Besides this, there is another Rs. 23 tariff plan from Airtel. As per the plan, customers are entitled to get the benefits of unlimited calls, 100 SMS per day and 100MB data for two days.

Lately, Airtel has been revising a lot of its tariff plans offering higher data benefits at the same cost. The telco recently revised its Rs. 93 prepaid plan to take on Jio's Rs. 98 plan. At Rs. 93, the company is offering benefits such as 1GB of data, unlimited calls be it local, STD and roaming and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. However, this plan is not an open market one and is only available in select cities.

Notably, the Rs. 93 plan listed on the website is applicable for all users. It bundles same benefits as mentioned above but the validity is 10 days for most users and 28 days for select users.
