Change Your Password
It often happens that the hacker gets too busy misusing your contacts that they forget to change your password.
The first thing that one can do to recover their Facebook account in one simple step is changing the password.
All the user need to do is go to Home> Click on Account Settings>General and click on the Password option>Confirm the current password and re-enter a new one.
Reset Your Password
In case your password has been changed, and you are not able to login to your Facebook account, all one can do is reset their password.

The reset option is available at the homepage, and on clicking on it, Facebook will send a link to the register email id.

Click on the link and enter a new password and confirm it to recover your account.
Report As Compromised Account
It is an extremely common sight for the Facebook users to suddenly send out unrecognized links and ads to its friends, which can be pretty annoying.
All the user needs to do is report it as compromised. This will stop your account from sending out links to your contacts.
Remove Suspicious Applications From the Account
Often it happens that its not a person who hacks your account, but can be a malicious application.
In order to remove these suspicious applications, the user has to go to Home>Account Settings>Apps and click on the application that they wish to remove.
