With the advancement and dependency on technology, we have started using dual-SIM mobile phones and different devices for various purposes. The reasons could be different, but the common scenario is one phone is just not enough for many.
When you start using another device, be it a tab or another phone, the common question is if it is possible to use the same WhatsApp account on two phones at the same time. There is no official way to facilitate the same.
The reason is to create a new WhatsApp account, you need to provide your mobile number and wait for a text message along with the verification code. This prevents you from using the same WhatsApp account on two different phones. But, there is a simple trick to do the same. To know this, go through the slider below.
Have an active internet connection in both phones
Make sure that both the phones have an active internet connection and the WhatsApp application should be installed on both. The WhatsApp app should be updated to the latest iteration.
Log on to WhatsApp Web on the second phone
In one smartphone, you should have the SIM card inserted and create a WhatsApp account with the same. On the second one, go to the browser (any browser) and visit web.whatsapp.com.
Open the desktop site
Note that WhatsApp Web will not open in the mobile website. So, you need to request for the desktop site. On doing so, WhatsApp Web will open on your second phone and it will display a QR code.
Activate WhatsApp Web on the first phone
On the first phone that runs the WhatsApp app, go to Settings →WhatsApp Web. Scan the QR code that is on the browser of the second phone using the camera on the first phone.
And, you're done!
That's it! You are done with using the same WhatsApp number on two different phones at the same time. You can use this method to use WhatsApp on a smartphone and a tablet or smartphone as per your requirement.
Please Note: To use WhatsApp on two different phones, both the devices should have WhatsApp installed in them. If you try to connect to a third device, the service will require you to log out of either one. Remember not to close the browser app on the second device.
