Reliance 49th AGM Highlights: Jio Call Agent, AI-Powered MyJio, and 5Gbps AirFiber Announced
Reliance Industries used its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) to outline a broader strategy of embedding artificial intelligence across Jio's telecom, broadband, and digital services. Rather than launching a standalone AI chatbot, the company is integrating AI directly into everyday consumer experiences, including voice calls, customer support, and home connectivity.
The headline announcement was Jio Call Agent, an AI-powered assistant that works during regular phone calls. Reliance also unveiled upgrades to the MyJio app, faster multi-gigabit Jio Home broadband services, and a new AI-powered smart home platform called Jio TeleFrame.

Jio Call Agent: AI Assistant for Everyday Calls
Jio Call Agent is designed to bring AI capabilities directly into voice conversations. Users can activate the assistant during a call by saying "Hey Jio," allowing it to join the conversation and assist in real time.
Key Features of Jio Call Agent
- Can be activated during a regular phone call using voice commands
- Supports multiple Indian languages
- Identifies and differentiates up to 10 speakers in a conference call
- Generates call transcripts and summaries
- Creates action points and reminders automatically
- Shares meeting notes with participants after the call
- Can perform tasks such as: Booking rides, ordering food, reserving restaurant tables, creating calendar events
Reliance said the feature will roll out in phases later this year to its base of more than 500 million users.
The company believes the tool can be particularly useful for business meetings, customer interactions, family discussions, and group planning sessions where important details are often lost after a call ends.
MyJio Gets an AI-Powered Upgrade
Reliance is also transforming the MyJio app into a conversational AI assistant. Instead of navigating through multiple menus and settings, users will be able to describe what they want in natural language and allow the AI system to complete the task.
The updated platform is expected to simplify several common telecom processes, including:
- Self-KYC verification
- eSIM activation
- International roaming pack selection
- Account migration when relocating to a new city
- Plan upgrades and account management
Reliance stated that all critical actions will require explicit user confirmation before execution, helping maintain control over account-related changes.
Jio Home Broadband Gets Multi-Gigabit Speeds
Reliance also announced an upgrade to Jio Home through Multi-Gigabit-ready JioAirFiber. The new offering promises download speeds of up to 5 Gbps and upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
The company is positioning the service for households with:
- Multiple connected devices
- 8K video streaming
- Cloud gaming
- Smart home ecosystems
- Future spatial computing applications
Reliance further claimed that users expressing interest through its website, the MyJio app, or a missed call will receive a callback within 15 minutes. The company also committed to activating home Wi-Fi connections within 24 hours of registration.
Jio TeleFrame Brings AI to Smart Homes
Alongside its broadband upgrades, Reliance introduced Jio TeleFrame, a voice-first AI operating system designed for connected homes.
The platform will support specialised AI agents capable of handling tasks such as:
- Home automation
- Guest management
- Shopping assistance
- Entertainment recommendations
According to Reliance, TeleFrame will support multiple Indian languages and aims to simplify smart home interactions through voice commands.
Reliance's AI Strategy Moves Beyond Chatbots
The announcements signal Reliance's intention to move AI beyond standalone applications and integrate it directly into services used by millions of Indians every day. By embedding AI into phone calls, customer support, and home connectivity, Jio is betting on practical utility rather than experimental features.
The long-term success of these initiatives will depend on execution, particularly around privacy safeguards, consent management, language accuracy, reliability, and customer trust. If delivered effectively, Jio's latest AI push could significantly reduce friction in how consumers communicate, manage services, and interact with connected devices.
