A New AI Era Begins: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Highlights Global Technology Collaboration
Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed optimism about the future of global technological collaboration. He believes that international cooperation in technology will persist, even if the U.S. government enforces stricter export controls on advanced computing products. This statement comes amidst concerns over potential policy changes under the incoming U.S. administration.
During a visit to Hong Kong, Huang emphasised the importance of open science and global collaboration in advancing society and science. He stated, "Open science in global collaboration, cooperation across math and science has been around for a very long time. It is the foundation of social advancement and scientific advancement."

Global Cooperation and Compliance
Huang remains confident that international cooperation will continue regardless of political shifts. He mentioned that Nvidia would adhere to laws while advancing technology and serving customers worldwide. "I don't know what's going to happen in the new administration, but whatever happens, we'll balance simultaneously compliance with laws and policies," he said.
Earlier that day, Huang addressed graduates at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology after receiving an honorary doctorate in engineering. He shared insights on artificial intelligence (AI), stating that its era has begun. "The age of AI has started," he declared, highlighting its potential impact on industries and scientific fields.

Huang elaborated on Nvidia's role in this new era by saying they have "reinvented computing and sparked a new industrial revolution." He described AI as possibly the most significant technology ever developed. His remarks underscored Nvidia's influence in shaping modern computing through innovations like the graphics processing unit (GPU).
Reflecting on his career, Huang expressed a desire to start anew in today's rapidly evolving tech landscape. He encouraged graduates by saying they are at a unique starting point with tools to advance science across various domains. "The whole world is reset," he noted, urging them to tackle challenges once deemed insurmountable.
In addition to his speech, Huang was honoured alongside notable figures such as actor Tony Leung and Nobel laureate Prof. Michael Levitt. The ceremony celebrated their contributions to their respective fields. Later in the day, Huang planned to engage in a fireside chat with university officials and students. This interaction aimed to foster dialogue on technological advancements and inspire future innovators.
