Apple Is Hiring People for Generative AI Roles

With the widespread popularity of generative AI technologies like ChatGPT, it's natural to speculate whether Apple is also working on its own comparable product. In light of the ongoing AI trend, it's reasonable to expect that major corporations wouldn't want to fall behind in this field.

According to Pocket-lint, Apple's careers page in the United States currently lists 176 open positions across various teams that specialize in machine learning and artificial intelligence.

According to Pocket-lint, there are reports suggesting that Apple has paused its hiring activities. However, it appears evident that the company is following the trend set by other Big Tech firms by strategically reallocating its recruitment efforts.

Apple is not being secretive about its approach to AI either. During Apple's Q2 earnings call, as reported by TechCrunch, the company stated that it would adopt a deliberate and thoughtful approach to generative AI.

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Apple has initiated restrictions on the usage of generative AI chatbots within the company to safeguard against the leakage of sensitive information.

Apple's developer conference, WWDC, starts on June 5th and is expected to unveil new software and hardware updates, including the eagerly-awaited Mixed Reality headset. While there is a possibility of AI-related announcements, significant advancements or major releases in this area might still require some additional waiting time.
