ChatGPT Wrote Medical, Engineering, Law, And Other Scientific Papers, Published In Journals

ChatGPT is being increasingly used to answer complex queries and have intellectual conversations. However, a radiologist at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center extended the Generative AI platform's skillset to write several scientific articles, which were published in well-read and respected journals.

Ever since ChatGPT was released to the general public, its versatility, depth, and scope continues to increase. It appears Generative AI can be skillfully used to research, compile, and write in-depth articles on technical and complex topics within hours instead of weeks and months.

Articles Written By ChatGPT Appear In Peer-Reviewed Journals

ChatGPT is a powerful conversational chatbot that OpenAI released late last year. While ChatGPT is running on Microsoft's funds, Google started offering Bard, a generative AI platform to rival ChatGPT.

These platforms are being used to answer queries, and according to a recent report, a medical professional used ChatGPT to write complex articles, which were accepted and published in reputed peer-reviewed journals.

Som Biswas, a radiologist at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center has reportedly confirmed that he used ChatGPT to quickly write a scientific article in the field of medicine.

Biswas was able to create an article by prompting ChatGPT section by section. He even submitted the paper to Radiology, a monthly peer-reviewed journal from the Radiological Society of North America.

The immediate result of his paper was an article titled, "ChatGPT and the Future of Medical Writing". Since his first article, Biswas has used ChatGPT to write at least 16 papers and published five articles in four different journals.

ChatGPT, Bard, And Other Tools Reducing Time For Research And Study?

It is astonishing to note that Biswas claims he wrote the 16 papers in just four months. Moreover, the papers he generates aren't limited to topics within his radiology expertise. He has written papers on the role of ChatGPT in the military, education, agriculture, social media, insurance, law, and microbiology.

Biswas has successfully published in journals specializing in different niche disciplines, including a paper on computer programming. Two separate letters on global warming and public health were published in the Annals of Biomedical Engineering.

Scientific papers and scholarly articles take a lot of time to compile. In fact, these articles demand dozens if not hundreds of hours of research before the author can even begin to write them.

Researchers strive to publish a few papers per year. Needless to say, generative AI is accelerating the creation of articles and research papers on complex times, and that too in record time. Content creators just need to ask the right questions or prompts.
