Did you know Google Search was down for a brief period today?
Google's search engine recently went down for a few minutes during the early hours of April 19, 2023. However, the outage didn't last long and was quickly fixed by the company, although there were several thousand reports of issues on Downdetector.
According to a report by The Verge, Google's search results weren't working properly as the actual list of blue links were missing. While The Verge noticed that things like the Top Stories box and the info box on the side were visible, the list of links weren't.

Moreover, nearly 20,000 users reported issues with Google Search on Downdetector. Additionally, several users also took to Twitter to report the Google outage. In an official statement, Google confirmed that its search engine was issues, but it has since been resolved.
A spokesperson for Google told The Verge in an email that "there was a very brief issue affecting the availability of results for some searches, limited to the Americas region, and it was quickly addressed."
While the issues were resolved rather quickly, several users took to Twitter to voice their frustration, which displayed the heavy reliance on the search engine in our lives. It is still unclear why the issue only affected some users and not others, but everything seems to be in order now.
