FASTag Annual Pass Price Hike in India Goes Into Effect on April 1: Here's How Much It Will Cost for 2026-27

The National Highways Authority of India will raise the FASTag Annual Pass fee to Rs 3,075 from April 1, 2026. The revision applies to the 2026-27 financial year. Despite the Rs 75 hike, the pass stays cost-effective for commuters who use tolled highways frequently and want predictable yearly spending.

The FASTag Annual Pass lets private vehicle owners prepay for 200 toll crossings in one go. It works across more than 1,150 plazas on National Highways and Expressways. Over 5.6 million users already depend on this option for smoother road journeys, with fewer payment delays and reduced stress about wallet balance.

FASTag Annual Pass Price Change and Toll Savings

The annual subscription moves from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075, but the service itself does not change. NHAI links the higher rate to inflation and regular highway upkeep costs. Users still gain a shield against individual toll fee increases, since the pass locks in their cost for a full year.

A commuter travelling daily between Meerut and Delhi would usually pay Rs 175 one-way, or Rs 265 for a round trip. Over 200 two-way crossings, that cost reaches roughly Rs 35,000. With the FASTag Annual Pass at Rs 3,075, the same routine works out to about Rs 15.57 for each trip.

FASTag Annual Pass Eligibility and Activation

The FASTag Annual Pass is restricted to non-commercial private vehicles, including cars, jeeps and vans. It does not apply to commercial fleets or goods carriers. The subscription connects to the existing FASTag already pasted on the vehicle’s windscreen, so buyers do not need any new tag, hardware, or separate account.

Existing customers receive a short window to renew the FASTag Annual Pass at the earlier rate of Rs 3,000 if they complete the process before April 1, 2026. After activation, the system automatically counts each eligible crossing until either 200 trips are used or twelve months pass, whichever happens first for that vehicle.

Applying for a FASTag Annual Pass is fully online and designed to be simple. First, the FASTag must be active, correctly linked to the registration number, and not blacklisted. NHAI then connects the pass to that tag within about two hours, after payment verification. Users get an SMS once the product is live.

StepAction for FASTag Annual Pass
1Confirm FASTag is active, mapped to the vehicle, and not blacklisted.
2Open the Rajmarg Yatra app or visit the official NHAI website.
3Log in and enter the Vehicle Registration Number for verification as a private car.
4Pay Rs 3,075, or Rs 3,000 when applying before April 1, 2026, via UPI, card, or net banking.
5Wait for confirmation SMS, then use toll lanes normally until 200 trips or one year is reached.

The FASTag Annual Pass removes the need to constantly check balances before long drives. There is no requirement for frequent top-ups before each highway journey. The central system identifies the tag, records the trip count, and lets vehicles cross plazas without manual payments, while still following the 200-trip and one-year limits.

For Indian highway users who travel fixed routes many times each year, the updated FASTag Annual Pass price still offers clear savings and predictable costs. The small fee rise from April 1, 2026 supports road maintenance, while keeping digital toll payments straightforward for private vehicle owners across the national network.
