Indian Student Akshat Srivastava Meets Apple CEO Tim Cook After Winning the Swift Student Challenge
Apple CEO Tim Cook recently shared his interaction with Akshat Srivastava, a 22-year-old student from BITSani, Goa. Srivastava is one of the winners of the Swift Student Challenge.
Cook expressed his admiration for Srivastava on X, highlighting the Indian student's effort in creating an app called MindBud. Inspired by playful moments with his nephew, MindBud aims to foster analytical and creative thinking in children through classic games.

MindBud: A Blend of Classic Games and New Technology
Cook remarked, "I met so many extraordinary developers when I visited India last year. It was equally wonderful to meet Akshat this week and see how he's created a whole new way to share his love of classic games with the next generation."
MindBud features four mini games designed for kids to enjoy with family and friends. Using SwiftUI, AVKit, PencilKit, and FileManager, Srivastava has crafted an immersive experience that blends classic games with modern technology.
Srivastava's Journey
Srivastava shared his excitement, stating, "The highlight of my trip was presenting my project to Tim Cook. His genuine interest and insightful feedback were incredibly inspiring." He added that the experience confirmed his passion for technology.
Srivastava's journey in app development began during the Covid-19 crisis when he created an app to track vacant hospital beds via social media posts. This innovative spirit has now earned him a place among the 50 Distinguished Winners invited to WWDC 2024.
