JioFiber Lagging Behind Airtel V-Fiber, ACT Fibernet In Netflix ISP Speed Index
According to the Netflix ISP speed index data of October 2019, Airtel has managed to beat JioFiber. In fact, the latter has now taken the fifth position in the chart. Airtel has managed to achieve average speeds of 3.64Mbps during the month, which is high than 3.37Mbps speed in September. JioFiber is providing 3.62Mbps speed to its customers when they stream content on the OTT platform.
On the other hand, both 7 Star Digital and Spectra are leading the chart with 3.74Mbps and 3.72Mbps speed during the same month. ACT Fibernet has achieved the fourth position with 3.63Mbps speed, followed by JioFiber, Vodafone-owned You Broadband, Hathway, Syscon Infoway, and D-VoiS.
On the other hand, both state-run telecom operator BSNL and MTNL recorded an average streaming speed of 2.45Mbps speed in October, which is higher than 2.17Mbps and 1.62Mbps speed in September. For those who are not aware, Netflix calculates the performances of all internet service providers across the globe on their Prime Time Netflix performance.
Meanwhile, Airtel has renamed its broadband service to Airtel Xstream Fibre and all broadband will be now available in under this new umbrella. The company is offering four plans, which starts from Rs. 799 to Rs. 3,999. The plan offers unlimited calls, data, and access to the Airtel Xstream app.
However, it is quite shocking to see JioFiber speed is declining, despite the fact that the company has already launched its services in India. But still, Netflix is only providing data from the last month. So, now there are chances that Jio will improve its average download speed because the tariff plans are live for all.
To recall, the company has launched six plans in India. The plans are priced at Rs. 699 and will go up to Rs 8,499 per month, along with internet speed from100 Mbps to 1Gbps.
