Meta Testing Tools For Generative AI Ads
Meta has announced that it will commence testing AI-powered tools that will create ads for various companies. The company stated that the new tools will help create content like images and text.

According to a Reuters report, the tools will be rolled out in an experimental setup, wherein a small group of advertisers will test them in a "testing playground" called the AI Sandbox.

Explaining the concept at a press event in New York, Meta executives said the tool will see a wider rollout in July by allowing more advertisers to access it. Later this year, the company will integrate some of its features into "general-purpose" ad products.
Meta's announcement follows that of Google, which claimed that it will start integrating AI technology into its search, email, and other products. Meta's tools will likely be used extensively in Facebook and Instagram, which already has a wealth of user data.
Earlier this month, Meta's CTO Andrew Bosworth said in an interview with Nikkei Asia that it plans to create ads with AI. He explained, "[I] expect we'll start seeing some of them [commercial use of the technology] this year."
Bosworth added, "We just created a new team, the generative AI team, a couple of months ago; they are very busy. It's probably the area that I'm spending the most time [in], as well as Mark Zuckerberg and [Chief Product Officer] Chris Cox."
More AI Tools in the Works
Back in February, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that the company is developing new AI tools under the leadership of Chris Cox. Recent reports revealed that the company is also working on AI-powered chats for WhatsApp and Messenger.
Additionally, Meta continues to work on 3D model creation with generative AI. Bosworth explained, "In the future, you might be able to just describe the world you want to create and have the large language model generate that world for you. And so it makes things like content creation much more accessible to more people."
