Opera Browser Launches Aria: ChatGPT AI “Web And Browser Expert” That Competes With Bing Chat?

Opera, a popular web browser, now has Aria. The newly introduced side panel is powered by ChatGPT Generative AI.

After Microsoft introduced Bing Chat, powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT, Opera released updated web browser versions with Aria side panel. Aria will offer access to generative AI services for free, assured web browser company Opera.

What Is Opera Aria ChatGPT AI Side Panel?

Generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Google Bard are increasingly making their way into software such as web browsers, document editors, online shopping platforms, and more. Microsoft recently introduced Bing Chat, which is powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Similarly, Opera has now added Aria, a side panel for the browser that relies on Generative AI. It allows users to use Generative AI services for free.

Aria is natively built into the browser and marks the beginning of a new kind of browsing experience for Opera users, claims the web browser maker. It allows users to benefit from ChatGPT AI while searching the web for information, writing text or code, or getting product questions answered.

Aria is built on Opera's "Composer" architecture. It connects to OpenAI's GPT technology and includes additional features such as live web results.
Opera assures the Composer architecture allows Aria to connect with other AI models too, which should help the side panel to expand its capabilities in the near future. In other words, Opera has hinted that users who adopt the Aria side panel could soon be able to seek answers from other Generative AI platforms such as Google Bard.

"The new AI is able to collaborate with a web browser user when used for looking for information on the web, generating text or code, or getting their product queries answered. Aria is knowledgeable about Opera's entire database of support documentation," announced Opera.

The Aria side panel is essentially a chat interface for now. However, Opera has indicated that it has big plans to integrate it even further when it comes to future versions.

Opera has ensured that Aria is up-to-date with material connected to the internet. In other words, just like Bing Chat, Aria is not limited to content from before 2021.

How To Get Aria AI Side Panel In Opera Browser?

Aria is available in early access versions of the Opera web browser. However, it is accessible in over 180 countries. Moreover, Opera for Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Android, have the feature, but testing requires an Opera account.

Desktop Opera users can try Aria by downloading the latest version of Opera One (development version). Android users can test Aria in the browser's current beta version, which is available for download from the Google Play Store.
