Reliance Jio 4G is All Set For Commercial Launch on August 15

Reliance Jio 4G is planning to launch its first plan commercially known as Freedom on August 15, with free voice services and data. If the rumor turns out to be true, Reliance Jio Freedom Plan may offer free voice calls and 1 GB data in 80 rupees.

As per the report from Economic times, this plan will be priced 25% cheaper compared to others. "The teams had been forewarned about a launch thrice earlier. But this time, the management means business," said one of the consultant.

Recently, the company's smartphone department Reliance Lyf has slashed the price of its smartphone with the cheapest 4G-VoLTE ready phones retailing at Rs 2,999.

Moreover, these smartphones will get three months of Reliance Jio data service free. The Voice services on Jio will be through VoLTE (voice over LTE), which offers higher call quality, along with faster video and multimedia services.

"We believe the delay in Jio launch has helped market leaders to strengthen their 4G offerings," said the report, adding while also suggesting that the market may be overly concerned about Jio's disruptive impact and ignoring rapid data growth in Indian mobile market.
