Reliance Jio Network Outage Explained: Thousands of Indian Customers Impacted by the Outage

Reliance Jio users across India experienced a significant network outage affecting both mobile and broadband services. Many users reported receiving a "no service" error on their Jio SIMs. The disruption was first noticed around 11:15 am, with over 10,000 complaints logged on Downdetector India, an outage tracking platform.

According to Downdetector, the issues peaked at approximately 12:20 pm. During this time, more than 10,000 users reported problems with the network. Most complaints were about the absence of signal on smartphones and other devices. Mobile Internet connectivity issues accounted for 21 percent of reports, while 19 percent involved JioFiber services.

Reliance Jio Network Outage Details

The outage affected both mobile signals and JioFiber networks. Users began reporting these issues on Downdetector from 11:15 am onwards. By 2:00 pm, the situation appeared to improve as reports dwindled to around 1,800. This indicated that the problem was being resolved gradually.

A Reuters report suggested that a fire at a Reliance Jio data centre might have caused the disruption. Although specific details remain scarce, an unnamed source mentioned that the fire had been controlled and servers restarted to restore services.

Jio's Response and Resolution

A spokesperson for Reliance Jio stated, "This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced problems in availing seamless services on account of minor technical issues. The same have been resolved, and seamless services of Jio have been fully restored. We regret the inconvenience to our subscribers." This statement confirmed that the technical issues were addressed promptly.

Despite the temporary setback due to the outage, Reliance Jio continues to offer attractive deals for its customers. As part of its eighth anniversary celebrations, Jio introduced offers including Zomato Gold memberships and OTT benefits.
