Samsung Internet Browser Released for Windows PCs: Check Features, Compatibility, More

Windows is a platform that has no shortage of web browser options. Some of the most popular browsers include Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Vivaldi, and Brave.

It is now time for a new browser to join the crowded space. Samsun's Internet browser has arrived for Windows users after being available on Android for a long time. It is good news for people committed to the Galaxy ecosystem as they can finally use a single web browser across smartphones, tablets, and PCs.

Samsung Internet Browser for Windows Released

Samsung Internet for Windows is a minimal looking browser based on the Chromium project. This is not surprising as many of the widely used PC web browsers are also developed using the same open-source project.

The newly released browser is available for download via the Microsoft Store. It can be installed on Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices. On releasing Samsung Internet for the first time, users will be greeted by a welcome screen with text written in Korean.

It seems like the browser is not meant to be available globally just yet. Nevertheless, click the Continue button to proceed and you will be able to use the browser without any issues.

Samsung Internet Browser for Windows Features

Samsung Internet lets you sign in with your Samsung account to utilize the syncing support. The only issue here is you will need to install the Samsung Account app separately to make this work.

Once done, it will let you sync your bookmarks, browsing history, settings, and open tabs across different devices. It does not sync your saved passwords just yet for some reason.

The browser also has other features and settings that you would expect from a standard web browser. You can easily choose between light and dark themes. There is support for ad blockers and web extensions.

The ad blocker options let you choose from two modes - Basic and Aggressive. You can move the address bar to either top or bottom. Samsung Internet for Windows has performance related features as well. There is a toggle that can be enabled for optimizing memory usage.

Its power saver mode can be triggered either when the battery is below 20% or whenever the laptop is unplugged. It has the following address bar search options - Google, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Info.com among others.
