WWDC 2023: Apple’s latest 15-inch MacBook Air is the “world’s thinnest” 15-inch laptop

Apple just launched a new MacBook Air at its annual developer conference, WWDC 2023. Apple claims that the new MacBook Air is the "world's best 15-inch laptop."

The 15-inch MacBook Air features a Liquid Retina display, an M2 chip, up to 18 hours of battery life, a six-speaker sound system, macOS Ventura, MagSafe charging, and a fanless design for portability, making it the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop.

The new 15-inch Apple MacBook Air price in India starts from Rs 1,34,900 or Rs 1,24,900 for students. The new Apple MacBook Air comes in Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and Space Gray shades.

The 15-inch MacBook Air with M2 is available for pre-order on Apple's online store. It will begin arriving to customers, and in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, beginning June 13. Apple Trade In will also allow customers to trade in their current computer and get credit toward a new Mac.

Apple 15-inch MacBook Air Specifications

Powering the new MacBook Air is Apple's M2 chipset, which features an 8-core CPU (four performance and four efficiency cores), a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. M2 also delivers 100GB/s of memory bandwidth and supports up to 24GB of fast unified memory.

The new MacBook Air features a 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display. The panel features a peak brightness of 500 nits and supports a billion colours. Apple's new MacBook Air packs a new six-speaker sound system with two tweeters and two sets of force-cancelling woofers. The system delivers immersive Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos support.

Apple says the new MacBook Air offers up to 18 hours of battery life and supports MagSafe charging. There are two Thunderbolt ports for connecting accessories and up to a 6K external display and a headphone jack. The new 15-inch MacBook Air also comes with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera with a three-mic array for video calls.

The 15-inch MacBook Air boots macOS Ventura, which brings several features including improved Messages and Mail, Apple's Continuity Camera, Stage Manager, and more. The new macOS Sonoma operating system will be heading to the new MacBook Air this fall.

The new MacBook Air is the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop according to Apple, measuring 11.5mm thick and weighing just 3.3 pounds. The new MacBook Air is designed with the environment in mind as the company aims to accomplish its goal of making every product carbon neutral by 2023.
