10 Awesome reasons to wait for Sony's upcoming phablet
Sony is soon going to add a new smartphone to its large-screen device portfolio, a new report suggests. The smartphone, to be called the Xperia M Ultra, is believed to be the successor to the last year's Xperia C5 Ultra, though the company still hasn't confirmed it yet. Reports have put light on its probable specification details, which include a 6-inch display, 3GB RAM and more.
The phone is expected to be Sony's mid-range smartphone offering that would be targeted at the consumers who like big screen smartphones that come with good features. It seems like Sony is planning to bring this phone to beat the competition from big-screen competitors from Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Huawei, Gionee and more.
If you are looking forward to the Sony Xperia M Ultra, you must take a look at its rumored specifications:
DESIGN:
Sony Xperia M Ultra will most likely be based on a design same as its predecessor, in the mid-range segment. We expect a plastic bodied smartphone with Sony's old "Omni-Balance" design that we seen on most Xperia smartphones.
MASSIVE DISPLAY:
Sony Xperia M Ultra will flaunt a massive dispay just like the other Ultra models in Sony's smartphone portfolio. It is expected that the Xperia M Ultra will have a 6-inch super narrow-bezel display of full HD quality, offering 1080p resoution, which should be crisp and sharp.
PROCESSING POWER & STORAGE:
The Sony Xperia M Ultra is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. Also expected is a 32GB built-in storage with support for microSD card.
HIGHER RESOLUTION CAMERA:
The Xperia M Ultra is expected to be targeted at the camera enthusiasts, for it is likely to feature higher resolution snappers. It is expected to have a 23MP rear snapper and 16MP front facing camera.
BIG BATTERY:
To run the big screen device, there will be a large 4,280mAh battery in charge of power supply. Moreover, the phone will most likely have quick charging capabilities as well as ultra power saving mode.
WATER AND DUST RESISTANCE:
Considering that the previously launched M4 Aqua and M5 have IP68 certification for dust resistance and water proofing, which let these phones withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to half an hour, the upcoming M Ultra smartphone might as well be water friendly.
SOFTWARE:
Software-wise, the Xperia M Ultra will most likely run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS wrapped under Sony's own UI, which will bring several customizations and additional features.
CONNECTIVITY:
Rumors have also hinted that the Xperia M Ultra will house a USB Type-C reversible port to be future ready. Also, it will feature standrad connectivity options like 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/AGPS and more. There may also be a dual-SIM variant of this smartphone.
ENHANCED SECURITY:
If rumors are to be beleived, the upcoming Xperia M Ultra smartphone will feature a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security of the device.
PRICE:
As far as the pricing and availability are concerned, there is no word on this as yet but we expect more details to follow in the coming days. It is expected to be priced compelling for a Sony smartphone.
