These changes will help better connectivity support for growing demand for connected computing under the Internet of things (IoT).
Apple Music For Android: 5 Key Features To Know
Bluetooth SIG members include promoters such as Ericsson, Apple, Intel, Nokia, Microsoft, Lenovo, and Toshiba. This organization has now given a preview of the features that will be a part of the new Bluetooth iteration scheduled for 2016 and beyond.
Here we give you five important features of the Bluetooth 2016 technology roadmap.
Internet Of Things
The enhanced Bluetooth LE (low energy), also called as Bluetooth 4.0v or Bluetooth Smart, has been focused mainly on increasing its Internet of Things, and has supporting features. It will feature a host of Bluetooth advancements that will push fast-growing industries such as smart home and smart infrastructure, industrial automation, and location-based apps and services.
Higher Range
As per Bluetooth SIG, the updated version of this Bluetooth will have an increased range by four times higher than the current limit of around 330 feet.
Faster speed
The updated Bluetooth technology will boast a 100 percent increase in speed that too without increasing energy consumption. This will allow faster data transfers even in heavier and critical applications. This will improve Bluetooth experience on medical devices.
Mesh Networking
One of the key developments in the pipeline is support for mesh networking which will allow all devices on a network to get connected with each other. This will help connecting all wireless devices that have a limited range and can be connected via a router.
Strong Developers support
Bluetooth is of the most popular connectivity option that is adopted by developers and manufacturers for the IoT connectivity support. "Bluetooth SIG member tools, like Bluetooth Developer Studio, and training programs will be updated to ensure strong developer support for these new IoT features," the organization mentioned in the post. Bluetooth SIG will be revealing additional features and profile updates in the coming months.
