Apple, Arm agreement reportedly extended until 2040

Apple has extended its agreement with the chip design company Arm which spans past 2040. The extension indicates Apple's intention to use Arm's architecture well into the future.

Several tech giants have also expressed interest in procuring Arm shares. Following unsuccessful acquisition attempts by Nvidia, Arm has proposed going public on Nasdaq, gaining the interest of multiple tech powerhouses.

Apple has made an agreement with the chip design company Arm that expands past the year 2040, as unveiled by Reuters. Arm declared this development in its filings for a proposed IPO.

Further details about the deal are scarce. However, given the dependence of Apple on Arm's designs for their custom chips, the extension suggests Apple's intention to rely on Arm's architecture far into the future.

Arm's Market Presence

In line with Apple, tech giants including AMD, Apple, Google, Intel, Nvidia, Samsung, and TSMC also showed interest in procuring Arm shares. This comes in the wake of Nvidia's unsuccessful attempt to purchase Arm from SoftBank due to legal hurdles.

The chip design company Arm has proposed going public on Nasdaq. Additionally, Apple, Google's parent company Alphabet, Nvidia, and other technology firms have shown potential interest in investing a total of $735 million in Arm's shares.

Apple iPhone 15 Series

The news comes as the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up for the next Apple event, titled Wonderlust, where it will announce the iPhone 15 series. The line-up will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, although some rumours also suggests that there will be a new iPhone 15 Ultra.

Moreover, reports also suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro models will get a major price hike over the iPhone 14 Pro variants. Other devices that will be unveiled at the event will likely be the Apple Watch Series 9.
