PhonePe Rolls Out Affordable Travel Insurance and Cashback Offers for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 Attendees

PhonePe is launching a unique travel insurance service tailored for visitors attending the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Priced at just ₹59, this initiative aims to provide financial protection to pilgrims and tourists during the massive religious gathering.

The fintech platform has partnered with ICICI Lombard General Insurance to introduce this coverage, which is available until February 25, 2025.

Affordable Insurance Plans for Travelers

PhonePe's new insurance offering comes in two pricing options based on the mode of travel. Pilgrims traveling by train or bus can opt for a ₹59 plan, while those flying domestically can avail themselves of a ₹99 plan. These policies are designed to mitigate financial risks associated with travel-related uncertainties.

The insurance coverage extends beyond just accidents, providing financial security in various situations, including:

• Hospitalization expenses

• Doctor consultations and outpatient treatments

• Personal accident coverage

• Compensation for lost checked-in baggage

• Reimbursement for trip cancellations

• Coverage for missed connecting flights

By offering this policy, PhonePe aims to address the common risks travelers face, ensuring a more secure experience during the grand event.

Cashback Offer for Maha Kumbh Mela Visitors

In addition to insurance, PhonePe is rolling out a special cashback initiative called the Mahakumbh Mela Offer 2025, which provides users with a flat ₹144 cashback on their first transaction made during the event. The offer is valid until February 26, 2025.

One of the notable aspects of this promotion is that it applies even to transactions as low as ₹1. To avail of the cashback, users must:

• Download and install the PhonePe app on an iOS or Android device.

• Set up a bank account UPI PIN within the app.

• Enable location permissions for transaction eligibility.

Once the first transaction is completed, the cashback will be credited as a scratch card within the app. However, this offer is exclusive to users in Prayagraj, where various stalls and shops accept PhonePe UPI payments.
