Smartphone makers that are aiming at emerging markets are churning out number of devices keeping their full-focus on consumers' preferences. And Alcatel is no exception to the fact.

Chinese hot-shot handset maker Alcatel recently introduced its latest sensation smartphone, the Idol X+, in India. The new Android-powered handset is now available through Flipkart at a price point of Rs. 16,999. India's largest e-retailer, Flipkart, is also offering a 50 % on Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ flip covers and preselected Flipkart eBooks worth Rs. 1,000 for free.

Just for the reminder, the Alcatel One Touch Idol X+ will come bundled with free JBL headphones. Also, Alcatel's fitness tracking Boomband is available bundled with the Idol X+ for an indefinite period. The handset was originally unveiled in December 2013 in China, apart from it being showcased at the CES 2014 in January.

Alcatel OneTouch Idol X+ - Highlighted Specifications

Spec-wise, it's got a larger 5-inch, Full HD screen with a super-crisp 441ppi. The screen has much of the same detail as its predecessor and can comfortably hold its own amongst the very best smartphones available in India. An increase in speed is a welcome addition too, coming courtesy of a 2GHz MediaTek-powered 'true' Octa-Core CPU with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

On the imaging front, the phone features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED Flash. It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter. Both cameras are capable of recording 1080p Full HD video.

Connectivity options for the device, which measures 140.4×69.1×8.1 mm and weighs 125g, include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi direct Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It comes with a Dual SIM support with dual standby mode as well.

Alcatel's Future Lineup Revealed

Now that Alcatel has launched the Idol X+ in India, the company is gearing up to launch more devices in India.
