Blackberry 7 OS phones won’t get updated to BB 10
Blackberry 7 operating system based phones from RIM will not undergo update to Blackberry 10 operating system. The main reason is said to be the compatibility factor. In simpler terms, devices running on Blackberry 7 operating system are not compatible with Blackberry 10 operating system. This comes as a disappointment for most of the users who are making use of the Blackberry 7 OS based devices who thought that their devices will get updated to the much awaited Blackberry 10 OS.
The company has already announced the alpha developer’s phone which is loaded up with Blackberry 10 OS and has already started initiatives to make the coders to develop new apps for the upcoming Blackberry 10 OS based device which is rumoured to be Blackberry London. The latest development clearly indicates that apps that are working on Blackberry 7 OS will also not be compatible with the yet to be released Blackberry 10 operating system.
RIM also believes that launching the handset that makes use of Blackberry 10 OS without any compatible apps can have significant negative impact on their sales. So by means of developing newer apps that is going to be compatible with Blackberry 10 OS, they will be able to satisfy the customers who will be eager to have their first hands on this amazing device with advanced functionalities.
However Blackberry 7.1 users need not get disappointed. The company is planning to give an extended support for Blackberry 7.1 for a while. The company has also promised that they would try to load some of the existing apps to port over to the new operating system. There are many apps in the Blackberry App World. Moving these apps towards the latest operating system is sure to reap benefits for the company.
Most of the Blackberry users would be quite happier to see the inclusion of atleast some of the existing apps towards the new operating system. Even the company also would be happier to see that since writing and generating new codes for the apps to be compatible with the upcoming Blackberry 10 operating system can prove to be time consuming.
The company would like to see a sooner than later release of their latest operating system which is expected to impress a wider audience taking in to context the user-friendly interface as well as advanced features and functionalities it is expected to provide. So let us have an eager wait to get the first hands on this latest operating system from RIM.
