10 Hot Rumors & Leaks About the Upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5S
Xiaomi, also known as the Apple of the East showcased its much-awaited flagship of the year, the Mi 5 at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2016 in Barcelona. Now, it appears that Chinese company is gearing up to launch its upgraded version, the Xiaomi Mi 5S.
Lately, a good number of leaks surfaced online hinting at the inclusion of 6GB of RAM and Snapdragon 821 SoC in the Mi 5S. Corroborating this, the Mi 5S was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark listing yesterday, confirming that the Mi 5S will feature a Snapdragon 821 chipset.

Xiaomi Mi 5S will rock a Full HD display
The AnTuTu listing has confirmed that the Mi 5S will rock a Full HD display. There were no details about the screen size but, if rumors are anything to go by, the Mi 5S will retain the same 5.15-inch screen as seen on the Mi 5.
Apple's 3D Touch-like feature
According to the earlier rumors, the Mi 5S could come with a pressure sensitive display akin to the ones on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. This display functions differently depending upon the pressure you apply on it.
Expect a Snapdragon 821 chipset
Like mentioned earlier, Xiaomi's latest offering will come with quad-core 2.4GHz Snapdragon 821 SoC. It is accompanied by the Adreno 530 GPU to take care of graphics.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box
The Mi 5S will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. It would've been great if it came preloaded with the latest Android 7.0 Nougat but, we have to make do with whatever we get as of now. Let's hope it will roll out the latest OS as early as possible.
6GB of RAM, Maybe!
The AnTuTu benchmark listing doesn't reveal the amount of RAM the Mi 5S will come with, but it is expected to pack 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
More storage space. Yes!
The rumor mill suggests that the Mi 5S will be available in different storage variants. One of these variants is expected to come with 256GB (UFS 2.0) internal storage space.
16 MP rear camera for the shutterbugs
There is no confirmation on these details yet, but Mi 5S is expected to sport a 16 MP rear camera with f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS, dual tone LED flash at the back to assist in low-light imaging, and an 8 MP selfie camera. Like its younger-cousin, the Mi 5S will be able to record 4K videos at 30fps.
Dual camera setup
The Mi 5S will allegedly come with a dual-camera setup at the back to give tough competition to the newly released iPhone 7 Plus.
Battery capacity seems to be improved
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is also expected to come with a slightly improved 3490mAh battery in comparison to the 3000mAh battery on Mi 5.
Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology
Several rumors have surfaced online pointing that the Mi 5S will feature the Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor technology. For the unknown, this technology can be used to works through different materials such as glass, plastic, steel, and sapphire. How is this an advantage, you ask? It will allow the company to integrate it under the Mi 5S's glass panel thereby allowing you to unlock the screen by touching anywhere on it.
