10 things that Honor 8 can do but an Apple iPhone 7 can’t
It's the age of dual-lens camera smartphones and the latest one to join the list is Huawei Honor 8. The smartphone is now available in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 29,999 and offers everything you would expect from a flagship handset at half a price.
Besides, it comes loaded with features and packs in some nifty tricks under its sleeve that even the most advanced Apple iPhone is not capable of.
Yes, you heard it right. Here's a breakdown of what Honor 8 can do that the iPhone 7 can't.
Better Multimedia viewing experience
One of the first things you notice about a smartphone is its screen and Honor 8 simply shines in the display department when compared to the iPhone 7. It's 5.2-inch IPS display delivers 1080x1920 pixels at an impressive 423 dpi, which beats the 4.7-inch HD display on Apple iPhone offering 1,334 x 720 pixels at 326ppi. The text, images, videos and games look much sharper and colours look more vivid as compared to iPhone 7.
This makes Honor 8 a better smartphone to watch movies, browse internet and play graphical intensive games.
Brighter images in Low light conditions
Honor 8 boasts a six-lens, wide-angle dual-lens camera setup at back that uses two 12MP Sony sensors with f/2.2 apertures and 1.25 µm pixel sizes. One of them is a traditional RGB sensor that captures color information, while the second is a monochrome sensor that measures brightness. After you take a shot, the Honor 8's software combines the two images into a single image, resulting better pictures even in low-light conditions.
On the other hand, iPhone 7 has a mono 12MP camera at the back with f/1.8 aperture.
Play music through 3.5mm Headphone Jack
A smartphone is designed to make our lives simpler and easier. That's why Honor 8 does not ditch the standard 3.5mm headphone jack, which you will not find in Apple iPhone 7.
With Honor 8, you don't need to buy an extra pair of Bluetooth headphones as it allows you to listen to your favourite music tracks with your favourite headphones carrying a traditional 3.5mm pin.
Faster Autofocus
Honor 8's dual-lens camera setup utilizes 'Laser Autofocus' technology that will never let you miss a precious moment. The camera focuses in a jiffy and wastes no time in capturing an image.
Apple iPhone 7 on the other side does not come with Laser Autofocus technology.
Unlike iPhone 7, Honor 8 has a smart Fingerprint Sensor that is basically a programmable shortcut button capable of performing a number of functions. In addition to unlock the handset, the fingerprint sensor can be customized to click images, display notification panel, dismiss an alarm or simply to accept an incoming phone call.
Offers Dual-SIM connectivity
Honor 8 comes with a Hybrid SIM card slot that makes it possible to use two SIM cards at the same time. You don't need to carry two phones as Honor 8 allows you to keep your professional and personal life separate with its dual-SIM connectivity feature.
Browse Gallery through Fingerprint sensor
How about using fingerprint sensor to browse images through your gallery. As magical it sounds, the smart fingerprint sensor makes it possible for you to browse images in your gallery by just swiping right and left on the fingerprint sensor without even touching the display.
Offers Expandable Memory Support
We all love to carry the world in our pocket and that's not possible with limited storage on-board. With Honor 8, you don't need to worry about the memory getting full, as the smartphone allows you to expand the built-in 32GB memory by up to 128GB via microSD card.
Better Multitasking
With 4GB RAM under the hood, you don't need to worry about the memory consumption in the background. Honor 8 can easily handle more than 30 applications running simultaneously in the background without breaking a sweat. Apple iPhone 7 on the other hand is backed by 2GB of RAM.
Shoot Video like a Pro
We have been using the manual mode for still images for a while and its time we also shoot videos like a pro. It is possible with Honor 8 as the smartphone dual-lens camera features 'Pro Video mode', which gives you full manual control of focus, W/B, ISO and shutter speed.
