Few days back, the Taiwan based handset maker Asus has sent out the media invites for the Zenvolution event that is happening on May 30th. Further, Asus CEO, Jerry Shen has confirmed that the company will launch Zenfone 3 in three variants -- Asus ZenFone 3, Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and the Asus Zenfone Max.

However, ahead of its Zenvolution event, the Indian subsidiary company has launched Zenfone Max smartphone in the Indian market at a price of Rs. 9,999 exclusively at ASUS Stores and retail outlets across India.

At this price point with a large 5000mAh battery, the ZenFone Max will be up against several handsets featuring a similar battery capacity and specs that specifically includes -- Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus, Gionee Marathon M5 lite and Redmi Note 3.

The biggest highlight of the Zenfone Max is its 5000mAh non-removable battery. The company claims that the Asus Zenfone Max can deliver up to 914.4 hours of standby time, up to 37.5 hours of 3G talk time or up to 32.5 hours Internet browsing.

Talking about the design, the Zenfone Max sticks to its traditional design just like its predecessor including the button placements.

In terms of display, the Zenfone Max sports a 5.5-inch display with 1280x720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The processor has been upgraded in this version from quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor to Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and Adreno 405 GPU under the hood.

Moving on to the storage department, the Zenfone Max is clubbed with 2GB/3GB RAM, with 32GB of inbuilt memory and an expandable option up to 64GB via MicroSD card. This handset, similar to other ZenFone series smartphones in India, supports Indian LTE bands as well. On the form factor, it measures 77.5x156x10.55 mm and weighs around 202 grams.
