Android 15 Developer Preview 1 Released: All You Need to Know
Google has released the first Android 15 Developer Preview to give an idea of what to expect from the next Android version. The stable version will most likely be released later this year.
Android 15 Developer Preview 1: What's New?
Android 15 will enhance device privacy and security, and enable apps to take advantage of premium device hardware, including high-end camera capabilities, powerful GPUs, dazzling displays, and AI processing. In a blog post, Google revealed that the first Android 15 Developer Preview is now available for Pixel smartphones.

Android 15 aims to bring Android AD Services up to extension level 10, incorporating the latest version of the Privacy Sandbox on Android. It integrates Android 14 extensions 10 around Health Connect by Android, a secure and centralized platform to manage and share app-collected health and fitness data.
Android 15's FileIntegrityManager includes new APIs that tap into the power of the fs-verity feature in the Linux kernel. With Android 15, Google is bringing support for partial screen sharing, allowing users to share or record just an app window rather than the entire device screen.
Android 15 provides new extensions for more control over the camera hardware, extends UMP support to virtual MIDI apps, and adds new Android Dynamic Performance Framework (ADPF) capabilities which are a set of APIs that allow games and performance-intensive apps to interact directly.
Android 15 Update Release Date
According to Google, another developer preview will be coming in March and Android 15 beta releases will begin in April. The timeline for the stable version of Android 15 is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to come around August or September.
Android 15 Developer Preview 1 Supported Devices
Only Google devices are supported for Android 15 Preview at this moment including the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, and the Pixel 6a.
