Google launched their much-awaited smartphones, the Pixel XL and Pixel couple of days ago and they are the first devices to run the latest Android 7.1 Nougat. Google already started seeding Android 7.0 Nougat to their Nexus smartphones including the two year's old Nexus 6.

Here we have compiled a list of smartphones eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat. This list includes popular smartphone brands and some of them have already confirmed about the handset models that will receive the update. Besides, some of them are based on the leaks till date.

Motorola

Starting off with Motorola. All the Moto smartphones released till date are shipped with near stock Android and that's the major reason for many to purchase a Motorola device. A couple of days ago, Motorola released a list of their devices which are eligible for the update. Check out the list below.

Moto G (4th Gen), Moto G Plus (4th Gen), Moto G Play (4th Gen), Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto X Force, Droid Turbo 2, Droid Maxx 2, Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Nexus 6.

Do make a note that, there is no Moto E3 Power in this list, which means that the smartphone may not receive the update.

Samsung

Samsung

It is widely expected that almost all the 2015 and 2016 Samsung smartphones will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. The list includes Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, and the struggling Galaxy Note 7. However, several mid-range devices such as Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy A9 Pro are also expected to receive the update.

HTC

HTC

When Android Nougat was officially announced, the company quickly posted on their Twitter handle saying the update will be released to three of their smartphones in near future. The smartphones are the flagship HTC 10, HTC One M9, and HTC One E9. HTC might push the update by the end of this year of early 2017.

Sony

Sony

Sony doesn't deliver the updates on time and as a result, their sales are depleting. However, Sony has already released the AOSP code of their Xperia Z3 and at the launch of Xperia XZ, they claimed that the Android N update will be released for all the Xperia X series smartphones and Xperia Xz in Q1 2017.

LG

LG

It is worth noticing that the LG V20 is the first non-Nexus device to run Android Nougat. That being said, it will go on sale from October 20. Other LG devices which are expected to receive the update are LG G5, LG V10, and some budget smartphones- LG X Screen, LG K5 and K5.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi

A latest leak surfaced online shows that Xiaomi is already testing the MIUI 9 on their upcoming Mi Note 2 smartphone. The MIUI 9 will be based on Android Nougat. This year's Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5s will receive the update, however, we don't expect Xiaomi to release the MIUI 9 to their best selling budget smartphone- Redmi Note 3.

Meizu

Meizu

Meizu is internally testing the Flyme OS 7.0 based on Android Nougat. And, it will go official with their upcoming Meizu Pro 7. Also, other smartphones of Meizu such as MX6 and Pro 6 will be able to receive the update.

OnePlus

OnePlus

As of now, there is no info regarding the update cycle from the company. Oxygen OS team is working hard in recent times and we can expect the update to be released for both OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 2 by the end of this year.

Huawei

Huawei

Same as Sony, Huawei also doesn't deliver updates on time and it seems like the trend will continue in future as well. The Huawei P9 and Honor 8 will be updated to Android Nougat along with another flagship smartphone- Mate 8. Also, there are rumors that the Mate 9 will be released with Android Nougat.
