Apple Intelligence Now Available in India with iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS Sequoia 15.4: How to Install?

Apple has launched the iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4 updates for its devices, including iPhones, iPads, and Macs. These updates introduce Apple Intelligence in several languages such as English (India, Singapore), French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

Greg Joswiak, Apple's Senior Vice President of Marketing, shared on X: "Bonjour, Ciao, Hallo, Olá, Hola, Konnichiwa, Annyeonghaseyo, Nǐ hǎo Apple Intelligence! From Writing Tools to Priority Notifications, Apple Intelligence is rolling out to more languages and platforms today!"

Apple Intelligence Features in India

Writing Tools: Available on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, these tools help users rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across apps like Mail, Messages, and Notes. Users can refine tone, check grammar, and create summaries in different formats, such as key points or lists.

Clean Up in Photos: Removes unwanted objects or people from images while preserving their natural look.

Smart Search in Photos: Lets users find specific moments in photos and videos using natural language queries, like "Maya dancing in a red dress."

Memories in Photos: Automatically creates memory movies by selecting and arranging photos and videos based on a text prompt, adding a storyline with themed chapters.

Image Playground: A creative tool for generating images, available as a standalone app and integrated into Messages, Freeform, and Keynote. Users can customize images with different themes, costumes, and styles like Animation, Illustration, and Sketch.

Genmoji: Allows users to create unique emojis by simply describing them, with the option to generate personalized versions based on photos of friends and family.

Image Wand in Notes: Enhances rough sketches in the Notes app, refining them into polished images or generating visuals based on surrounding text.

Priority Messages in Mail: Highlights important emails, such as boarding passes or urgent invitations, and provides quick summaries without opening the message.

Priority Notifications: Helps users stay focused by summarizing lengthy notifications and prioritizing urgent alerts, such as meeting reminders.

Audio Transcription and Summarization: The Notes and Phone apps can now record, transcribe, and summarize audio and phone calls, making it easier to recall key details.

Smarter Siri: Now more conversational, Siri supports voice-to-text switching and provides detailed answers about Apple device settings and features.

Visual Intelligence: Recognizes objects, translates text, and extracts details from posters or flyers to create calendar events. Users can also conduct visual searches using Google Search or ChatGPT.

ChatGPT Integration: Siri and Writing Tools can now tap into ChatGPT for advanced responses and image generation, with full user control over data sharing.

Apple Intelligence Eligible Devices

Apple Intelligence features will be available on select Apple devices with the necessary processing power to support advanced AI capabilities. The eligible devices include:

iPhones

iPhone 16 Pro

iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max

iPads

iPad Pro (M1 and later)
iPad Air (M1 and later)

Macs

These features require Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, or later) for optimal performance and will not be available on older iPhones, iPads, or Intel-based Macs.

How to Update?

Once users update their devices to the latest firmware version, they will gain access to various Apple Intelligence features.

To update your Apple devices to iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, or macOS 15.4, ensure your device is compatible and backed up.

For iPhone or iPad:

Connect to Wi-Fi and power.
Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
Tap Download and Install.

For Mac:

Connect to the internet and power.
Click the Apple Menu > System Settings > General > Software Update.
Click Upgrade Now.
